ANTOON
I was most looking forward to the lunch breaks. Then I would settle in the cafeteria with a group of card players to play colors. That afternoon, my boss Antoon had joined us. It was one of those days when I felt like taking a lot of risks. Usually, I end up failing spectacularly, but this time was different.
The more the game progressed, the angrier the looks from my fellow players became. I didn’t quite understand why. Until I dared to ask the question: ‘Am I winning by any chance?’. My boss Antoon angrily shouts for the entire cafeteria: ‘Am I winning by any chance?!!!!!!????? You’re 100 points ahead!!!!!’. ‘Is that true?’, I ask in surprise, and I have to make every effort not to burst into laughter. But see, I was allowed to play along many more times.
And you? Do you also like to take risks in a card game?
