WINTER GREEN
When December arrives, together with those long, dark days, I feel a strong need to slow down. It’s as if my body is asking for permission to rest.
December feels different to me than November. In November, I’m still saying goodbye to summer, to the last leaves clinging to the trees. But in December, there is no farewell anymore — and no expectation yet. There is simply a moment of nothingness: wonderful.
And in that stillness, I gently find my balance again.
At Blommm, I learn how to make a winter wreath using what nature offers in December: winter green and rust-colored branches. Pauline shows us how even dead branches can bring color and rhythm to a wreath. And yes, it turned out beautifully — completely Softly Balanced.
What does December do to you?
